Design Principles

 Rules of Design

Rules of Design classified into two categories:

  1. 1.Numbers
  2. 2.Emotion

Numbers:
Numbers are classified into three categories:

2-SIDES:

Symmetrical: Symmetrical logos are logos in which the right and left side are identical. Symmetrical logos give feelings of balance, structure and are often used to represent engineering and trade companies.

Asymmetrical: Asymmetric logo design refers to a style of logo creation that emphasizes asymmetry, where elements are arranged in a non-symmetrical manner while still achieving a sense of balance through contrast.

        4-SIDES:

Biaxial Symmetrical Design: When both the X and Y axis are reflected to make copies of themselves, Biaxial Symmetry is produced. on the top, bottom left, and right of these, there are symmetrical patterns (Horizontal and Vertical axis).

Radial Design:   Radial design is a Design principle that involves using a center point and arranging elements about it in a circular or spiral pattern.

EMOTIONS:
Rhythm: The principle of design that refers to a regular repetition of elements of art to produce the look and feel of moment. Rhythm is created when one or more elements of design are used to suggest movement.

Simplicity: Simplicity in the context of web design refers to keeping Layouts, Interfaces, Content, and Functionality clean, Focused, and Streamlined. The goal is to create an Intuitive, seamless user experience that serves its core purpose without unnecessary clutter or complications.

Abstract: The principles of abstract art are methods artists use to arrange and organize the                      elements of art in an artwork. They also help the viewer to describe the art.

There are several principles of abstract art and in this article, I will focus on the following:

      1. Balance
      2. Unity
      3. Rhythm
      4. Pattern
      5. Proportion
    • Unity: Unity principle is about harmonizing the design if an interface. All the elements present in the design should be visually and logically harmonized. Harmonizing all the Colors, Shapes, Images, Texts, Dividers, Textures, etc.
    • Balance: Balance is one of the key principles in design. It refers to the distribution and visual weight of elements in a composition. A well-balanced design is naturally pleasing to the eye and exudes a sense of equilibrium.
